How to onboard 500 members without answering the same questions

September 2, 2026

A practical onboarding path for a growing Whop: one start page, a short FAQ set, and an inbox for the leftovers — not 500 custom DMs.

“500 members” is a planning number, not a trophy. At that size, custom onboarding DMs do not scale. If every new member needs a personal walkthrough, you do not have a community — you have a queue. The fix is a path they can walk without you.

One start article, not a welcome novel

The first article should answer only: you are in, here is what to do in the next 20 minutes, here is where live stuff happens, here is who to contact if access failed. Link out to billing, recordings, and rules. Do not paste the whole curriculum on page one.

Make the path the same for everyone

  • Pay → access unlocks (say this in writing)
  • Open the start article
  • Join the one channel you actually use
  • Complete the first task (watch a clip, post an intro, book a call)
  • Only then offer 1:1 help

Reuse answers in the inbox

You will still get messages. That is normal. The mistake is writing a new paragraph each time. Publish the FAQ, then save the same text as a quick reply. After hours, one automation that points at the start article beats a silent inbox. DocsHub Essentials includes five active quick replies and one inbox automation; Pro removes the reply cap if volume grows.

Measure the questions you still hate

Once a week, list the three DMs you resent. Each one is a missing or badly titled article. This is how 50 members and 500 members stay the same workflow. You are not hiring a support team yet — you are refusing to be the search box.
